Automobiles are designed by man, and as such are not perfect. The only thing we can do is to try to get as close to perfection as possible. The only way to do so is to LEARN FROM PAST MISTAKES.
Today, new car designs are rolled out in great succession, leaving little time for sufficient appraisal or reappraisal of each design. This means a simple carelessness on the part of the designer can(and often does) lead to a design fault which only becomes apparent when the cars have reached their end user, the motorist.
Unfortunately, such mistakes are repeated surprisingly frequently as lessons are not fully learned or are sometimes even ignored.
In this section we will focus on such issues from time to time and discuss the lessons we need to learn from them, to make a positive influence in the design of future cars.
